Man About a Horse

Man About a Horse plays traditional bluegrass instruments, but not always traditional bluegrass. The quintet infuses their sound with rock and pop references, funk grooves, and blues roots. Founded in 2014 by a couple of next-door neighbors in Philly, Man About a Horse’s debut LP hit the Billboard Bluegrass Chart in 2017, and earned critical praise from Bluegrass Unlimited, British Bluegrass News, and others. In 2018, the band won the FreshGrass Festival Band Award and was nominated for the International Bluegrass Music Association's Band Momentum Award. 'The Horse' has performed at festivals and in venues around the U.S., sharing the stage with Old Crow Medicine Show, Cabinet, Danny Barnes, Hot Buttered Rum, Wood & Wire, Donna the Buffalo, and many more. In 2019 the band will embark on its first international tour.
